Who would have  thought Germany would be criticized  for not sending tanks to fight Russia? Indeed tanks are not for defence.
In Budapest it is said "Americans want a war. And they're going to get one. US is bound and determined to fight a war with Russia, and is going to do whatever it needs to do to make that happens". 
May be but US policy is going to generate a lot of resentment from Europeans.
Peter Hitchens in his column "it is an act of grave stupidity for the West to supply Ukraine with modern tanks. If Ukraine new tanks cross into what Russia regards as its own territory, then do not be surprised by anything which happens.
Putin is probable capable of authorizing the use of battlefield nuclear weapons if cornered. Worse, if he is overthrown  in a midnight putsch, he will not be replaced by some jolly, liberal-minded chap. He will replaced by someone who might view it as a positive pleasure to press the red button.
A large chunk of Europe might be turned into a radioactive graveyard and American conventional retaliation will take us a stage of further into the world of horror, loss, flight, pestilence, poverty.
Americans are thousands of miles away from what would become the battlefield if this war expands and goes nuclear.
All we ought to be doing everything we can to bring Russia and Ukraine and the US to the peace table.

Gli americani stanno a migliaia di miglia da..

Chi avrebbe mai pensato che la Germania sarebbe stata criticata per non aver inviato carri armati a combattere la Russia? In effetti i carri armati non sono per la difesa.

A Budapest si dice "Gli americani vogliono una guerra. E la otterranno. Gli Stati Uniti sono vincolati e determinati a combattere una guerra con la Russia, e faranno tutto il necessario perché ciò accada".

Può essere, ma la politica degli Stati Uniti genererà molto risentimento da parte degli europei.

Peter Hitchens nella sua colonna "è un atto di grave stupidità da parte dell'Occidente fornire all'Ucraina carri armati moderni. Se nuovi carri armati ucraini entrano in quello che la Russia considera il proprio territorio, allora non stupitevi di ciò che accade.

Putin è probabilmente capace di autorizzare l'uso di armi nucleari sul campo di battaglia, se messo alle strette. Peggio ancora, se viene rovesciato in un putsch di mezzanotte, non sarà sostituito da un tipo allegro e dalla mentalità liberale. Sarà sostituito da qualcuno che potrebbe vedere come un piacere positivo premere il pulsante rosso.

Una grossa fetta dell'Europa potrebbe essere trasformata in un cimitero radioattivo e la rappresaglia convenzionale americana ci porterà a un livello più avanzato nel mondo dell'orrore, della perdita, della fuga, della pestilenza, della povertà.

Gli americani sono a migliaia di chilometri da quello che diventerebbe il campo di battaglia, se questa guerra si espandesse e diventasse nucleare.

Tutti dovremmo fare tutto il possibile per portare Russia, Ucraina e Stati Uniti al tavolo della pace.

Dirlo non ti rende Putinista, ma chi vuole la guerra sicuramente vorrebbe che tu lo creda. (theamericanconservative.com/22 gennaio 2023)
