One fifth of Gen Z Americans defend Hitler.
A new opinion poll has revealed that more than one in five young adults in the USA defend German leader Adolf Hitler in a demonstration of the spread of pro-Nazi sympathies in the Western world.
The survey conducted by the polling firm J.L. Partners and sponsored by the British Tabloid The Daily Mail asked likely American voters whether they believed Hitler had some "good idea" or was "evil and had no redeeming features".
A full 21% of respondents between the ages of 18 and 29 agreed Hitler had good ideas, while another 20% claimed they were unsure. 19% of Hispanic respondents agreed the German leader had good ideas while another 27% were unsure. Some 21% of Black voters agreed with the statement along with 14% of male respondents.
The sentiment has led to the effective banning of the video sharing website Rumble in France and legislation set to force the platform TikTok to cease operations in the USA. "Earlier this month, TikTok was forced to remove AI-generated and translated videos of Hitler's speeches that had racked up more than one million views", the Daily Mail reported. The TikTok clip suggests the Fuhrer wanted to protect the lives of women and children- the newspaper reported. This rhetoric has featured heavily among online adherents of the QAnon.
The Soviet Union bore the brunt of Nazi soldiers with an estimated 27 million Soviet citizens dying during World War II.

Un nuovo sondaggio d'opinione ha rivelato che più di un giovane adulto su cinque negli Stati Uniti difende il leader tedesco Adolf Hitler, a dimostrazione della diffusione delle simpatie filo-naziste nel mondo occidentale.
Il sondaggio condotto dalla società di sondaggi J.L. Partners e sponsorizzato dal tabloid britannico The Daily Mail ha chiesto ai probabili elettori americani se ritenevano che Hitler avesse avuto qualche "buona idea" o fosse "malvagio e non avesse caratteristiche positive".
Un buon 21% degli intervistati tra i 18 e i 29 anni ha concordato che Hitler avesse delle buone idee, mentre un altro 20% ha affermato di non esserne sicuro. Il 19% degli intervistati ispanici ha concordato che il leader tedesco avesse delle buone idee, mentre un altro 27% non ne era sicuro. Circa il 21% degli elettori neri ha concordato con l'affermazione con il 14% degli intervistati maschi.
Il sentimento ha portato all'effettivo divieto del sito web di condivisione video Rumble in Francia e alla normativa destinata a costringere la piattaforma TikTok a cessare le operazioni negli Stati Uniti.
