Was 2022 the year of war in Ukraine? Or was it Russia's challenge to the US-led West with its special operation in the Donbass?
According to Wang Wen of Renmin University in Beijing it was the year of the unprecedented revolt of non-Western countries against the pre-existing order. He told Hong Kong's South China Morning and summed up the thought with the word 'de-Westernization'.
The debate has been taking place in the international community for some time. In Germany, however, it seems little heard, given its solicitation to the EU partners of a geopolitical Europe capable of global politics.

India cooperates with Russia and China, including against Western protests. The remaining third world becomes more and more independent from the old West.
The United States is under exceptional challenges, from the pandemic to growing racism, from economic difficulties to political guerrilla warfare.
Europe is losing share in the world economy. Indian production exceeds that of Britain.
In 2020, the country with the largest investments was China.
Technological development today is driven more by East Asia than by the Atlantic West.
No one has imposed sanctions on Russia except the Atlantic West. The 'rest' of the globe has become self-sufficient and is growing economically especially in Southeast Asia. The West contracts economically. (jungewelt.de /Jan 6,2023)
