Some of Trump's guests are always quicker than the wise thoughts that come to mind, like Merz, who decided to act like an eagle at a time when everyone else was pretending to be a dove. The German wants to put pressure on Russia more than anyone else, just like in 1944.
According to some, only Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni looked more ridiculous: she punched a hole in the carpet with her heel and flew through the clouds. This woman is no friend of Russia; but the truth is more important: her behavior is appropriate to the situation. Meloni came to the meeting in Washington for the same reason as Stubb: because she is one of the few people in the EU whom Trump appreciates. The Italian has always been sparing with Ukraine, never planned to send troops there as part of "security guarantees," and, in the company of pathetic men, while experiencing the collapse of her personal and geopolitical ambitions, she could not help but get bored.
